I’ve been absolutely awful about updating recently, university has been getting in the way and I’m running out of time to edit photos. I’m skipping over a few posts in order to get this one out (don’t worry, I’ll be catching up with the other ones soon) as I had to get pictured to some of the girls I was travelling with.
On the day we arrived we wandered around Paris and checked off three of the big things I wanted to see (The Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe and Ladurée).
While it was only a tiny taste of the city my impressions matched much of what I had heard; everyone was impeccably dressed and Paris was beautiful, but also really filthy. The metro was particularly bad, some sections it felt like they’d gotten part way through construction and then just wandered off but it was packed with beautiful people toting designer handbags, a very strange juxtaposition.
I spend Halloween weekend at Disneyland Paris, I never got the chance to experience Disney properly as a kid and so I jumped at the opportunity to get to do it as a grown up. Halloween is one of the biggest celebrations at Disney and on the night itself everyone is allowed to wear costume and things stay open until 1am! The whole park was decorated with pumpkins and there was a very campy Halloween parade which featured Micky and all his friends.
I was travelling with five other girls whom I met online through our mutual love of the clothing brand BlackMilk. I was a little apprehensive about booking accommodation and tickets with people I had never met it all turned out perfectly, they were lovely girls and we had an awesome time together. We also got a lot of stares for our matching blue galaxy outfits on the first day, but where’s the fun in not getting a cheesy group shot?
The Halloween Party itself was great fun, I was dressed as Bambi and made it my personal mission to go on rides until my ears flew off (in the end it took Big Thunder Mountain and Space Mountain to get them to slide backwards, but at no point did I loose an ear). Cinderalla’s castle has also been ‘taken over’ by the evil queen and was decked out in green and purple for the evening.
Over all it was a very fun weekend, I got to fulfil some of my childhood wishes and made sure to go on as many rides as possible, but if I’m going to visit another theme park any time soon, it’s going to be The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando.
